There is a lot of excitement over the special sessions of the Parliament called by the central government. As the government is keeping silent on the agenda of this special session to be held between September 18-22, the excitement has increased. However, speculations are rife that key discussions on the topic of ‘One Nation – One Election’ will be held in these meetings. A recent news has come out to give strength to these. It seems that the Center has set up a committee to examine the feasibility of holding simultaneous elections across the country. It is reported that this committee will be headed by the former President of India, Ram Nath Kovind.

Currently, along with the Lok Sabha elections, the assembly elections of various states are being held separately. As a result the costs are increasing every year. It seems that the BJP government wants to bring one country – one election system. In fact, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also spoken positively on this matter on several occasions.

On the other hand, there are also speculations that the NDA government led by Prime Minister Modi will go for early elections. That is why there is a talk that the Parliament will organize a special session and explain the work done by the government so far. But these are just speculations. Currently there is no clarity on what the government is thinking.
