TDP Chief Nara Chandrababu Naidu met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP National President JP Nadda on Saturday. After reaching Delhi in the afternoon, Chandrababu arrived at Amit Shah’s residence at 8 pm. He met Nadda there. Reacting to Chandrababu’s meeting with BJP leaders, the party said it was a private event.
This meeting has gained importance at a time when efforts are being made for an alliance between BJP, Janasena and TDP in the upcoming Andhra Pradesh Assembly and Lok Sabha elections. Although the BJP leadership is ready to contest with Jana Sena, there have been claims that Sasemira wants to meet with Chandrababu Babu. Jana Senani wants all three parties to go together. The importance of this meeting comes at a time when the issue of alliances is being discussed.
The sources revealed that BJP and TDP may have an alliance for the Telangana assembly elections to be held this year.
Telugu Desam Party- TDP was a part of NDA in the year 2014 but quit ruling alliance in March 2018 before 2019 elections on the issue of special status to AP. However, both parties came together after the recent municipal elections in the Port Blair.
