Chandrababu Naidu, YS Sharmila term Hanuma Vihari episode Shameful

TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu and AP Congress YS Sharmila Reddy on Tuesday termed as shameful the alleged humiliation of cricketer Hanuma Vihari, who decided never to play for Andhra Pradesh after he was pressured to quit as captain.

TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu said, “It is a shame that even Andhra Cricket Association has succumbed to YSRCP’s “vindictive politics””. YS Sharmila slammed the YSRCP government and demanded an impartial inquiry into the issue.

Hanuma Vihari, a brilliant Indian international cricketer, who has played 16 Tests for India, posted a statement on his Inst account saying that he would never play for Andhra Pradesh again. His announcement came after Andhra failed to make Ranji Trophy semi-finals, losing to MP by four runs on Monday.

Sharmila Reddy reacted, “What could be more shameful than this.”

YS Sharmila slammed YSRCP government and demanded an impartial inquiry into the issue.

Sharmila Reddy, sister of AP CM Jagan Reddy, posted on ‘X’, “YSRCP who are playing bad politics, are now showing their wretched politics and authoritarianism in sports as well. We cannot imagine to what depths these people who have destroyed Andhra Pradesh’ reputation in every way will sink.”
