Telangana Chief Minister KCR has ordered to distribute Podu Land Titles to tribals across the state from 30th of this month. CM KCR will start this program from district center of Asifabad.
However, although it was announced to start the distribution program of land from 24th of this month, due to some unavoidable reasons, it was changed to 30th of this month. Officials said that the National Election Committee is touring the state, conducting training classes for the District Collectors and the Bakrid festival on the 29th of this month. As a result, the collectors are having a hard time.
It seems that a review is being conducted on issues such as voter list and election polling stations. Also, there is Bakrid festival on 29th of this month. With this, the government has finalized the deadline on June 30. On the same day, CM KCR will inaugurate District Collectorate office and SP office in Asifabad.
Around 11 districts of Telangana have high waste lands. There are people doing Podu Cultivation in other districts. Tribal farmers have been cultivating for years. Under the Haritaharam scheme, the government is carrying out cultivation of sugarcane in forest lands. As a result, there is a conflict between the forest officials and the weed farmers. Officials say that they will leave the lands with land title documents and plant mulberry in other areas. The tribals say that they are planting mukka in the lands they are irrigating.
