The dead body of a head constable of the Telangana State Special Police was found at the farm house of Telangana Chief Minister KCR, in Siddipet district. This incident took place on Wednesday. The police said that Head constable Venkateshwarlu, 38, who was posted as security guard in-charge at KCR’ farmhouse, shot himself with his gun while on duty at the farmhouse at Erravalli in Siddipet district.
The other policemen, who was on the duty rushed him to a hospital where he was declared dead by the team of doctor. According to the police report, the head constable Venkateshwarlu, hailed from Yadadri Bhongir district, was addicted to liquor. He was on leave for last one month to undergo treatment at a de-addiction centre.
Siddipet Police Commissioner Joel Davis said that the Head constable Venkateshwarlu was drunk when he shot himself with his gun at around 11:30 am. He also said the Head constable was absent from his duties for four days without permission and was taken back on duty on Tuesday at the request of his wife.
Siddipet Police Commissioner added, “We have to wait for the post-mortem report to see if he was drunk at the time of this incident.
The case has been registered and the body of Head constable Venkateshwarlu has been send for autopsy.
