The case of illegal vehicles is haunting TDP leader and former MLA JC Prabhakar Reddy. The Court of People’s Representatives has issued a summons to him to attend the hearing of this case. It sent summons to JC Prabhakar Reddy and 18 others to appear before the hearing on 1st March.
In the month of December, the Tadipatri police filed an 830 page chargesheet in Tadipatri Judicial Magistrate Court against 13 people including Tadipatri Municipality Chairman and TDP former MLA JC Prabhakar Reddy, his son, wife, associate C Gopal Reddy of Jatadhara Industries in thirty five cases related to the illegal purchase and registration of 151 BS III vehicles as BS IV vehicles.
The police stated in the FIR against JC Prabhakar Reddy that 154 vehicles were registered with false documents. At that time, Prabhakar Reddy declared that a false case was registered against him as part of political parties. In connection with this case, the police arrested JC Prabhakar Reddy and his son Asmit Reddy on June 13, 2020.
On the other hand, ED is also investigating this case. ED officials have registered a case that registration of BS 3 vehicles has been changed to BS 4. On October seven last year, JC was interrogated by ED officials for about five hours. They were accused of buying expired vehicles as scrap and registering them with false documents.
