Over the last week, there is a decline of Covid positivity rate in the city, so that, the government of Delhi has announced to discontinue the weekend curfew, that has been in the implementation since weeks. The proposals have been approved by the chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and have been submitted to Anil Baijal, the Lieutenant Governor.

The government of Delhi has imposed several Covid protocols and safety measures for the prevention of the spread of Omicron. Apart from these, 50% employees are allowed to work in the private offices and the odd and even strategy in malls and markets will also be rescinded. While, in Kerala, Covid TPR is about 40%, the state implements lockdown-like restrictions on coming two sundays.
Kerala recorded 46,387 fresh Covid cases within 24 hours. With the addition of these cases, the positivity has raised to 40.2%. More than this, Thiruvananthapuram has recorded 9720 Covid cases as on today, and it’s positivity rate stands at 46.68%. Kerala state government has also proposed new policies for imposing restrictions. The state has done away with the prevailing restrictions implemented at local levels according to the Weekly Infection Population Rate (WIPR).
Coming to India, the country recorded more than 3.47 lakh new Covid cases in last 24 hours. Currently, total number of active cases in the country are 20,18,825, and the total recoveries are 2,51,777. The total tally of Omicron cases increased to 4.36% in the country.
