Duniya Vijay arrested againDuniya Vijay, the Kannada actor has been arrested again by Bengaluru police on Saturday night for allegedly assaulting and kidnapping a celebrity gym trainer at a bodybuilding competition at Dr. Ambedkar Bhavan in Vasanthnagar.

The victim, Maruthi Gowda, who is being treated for his injuries at a private hospital, is the nephew of Vijay’s friend-turned-rival Krishnamurthy.

According to the latest update, Duniya Vijay and his three friends have been arrested for assaulting a 26-year-old gym trainer. The complaint was filed by Krishnamurthy H. alias Pani-puri Kitty Kitty, a gym owner.

Duniya Vijay was taken to Vyalikaval police station for questioning and he was questioned for almost six hours. According to the police report, Duniya Vijay kidnapped Maruthi Gowda over an old rivalry.

Assistant Police Commissioner (West) Ravi Shankar said, “We have taken Duniya Vijaya (44) and his three friends into custody on a complaint by the victim’s relative for questioning though there are conflicting reports about the crime and its reasons.”

On Saturday night, Duniya Vijay was a guest at a body-building competition at Ambedkar Bhavan in Vasanthnagar. He asked Maruthi Gowda about Kitty. When Maruthi  Gowda replied that Kitty had not come, Duniya Vijay used filthy language and Gowda protested.

Later Vijay and a few others forcibly took Maruthi Gowda out of the building and pulled him into Vijay’s Range Rover. They drove towards Rajarajeshwarinagar, while Vijay, Prasad R, Prasad J, and Mani kept on assaulting Maruthi Gowda.

On Sunday, during the media interaction, the gym trainer Maruthi Gowda on Sundayrevealed that apart from Duniya Vijay, Prasanna, a bodybuilder, Mani, a gym trainer, and Prasad, the driver, kidnapped and assaulted him. He claimed that he was taken to Nayandahalli on Mysore Road.

Duniya Vijay is currently out on bail in connection with Maasti Gudi case, after being on the run for over a year in connection with the Maasti Gudi case.
