EC has intensified the exercise for Telangana assembly elections. The Election Commission is likely to release the final voter list on Wednesday. The EC says that there are 3.13 crore voters in Telangana. From January to September 18 this year, 13.06 lakh people applied for new voter registration. On the other hand, 6.26 lakh people applied from the voter list. Meanwhile, the political parties want to take a decision regarding the registration and deletion of names in the voter list only after conducting an inquiry. The political parties are objecting to taking measures for registration and removal of voters without conducting any investigation at the field level. The final list of voters is likely to be released at five o’clock today.
Political parties are making accusations that the rules are not being followed in the process of voter registration. Political parties are criticizing that the authorities have not taken action even though bogus voters have taken place in the past.
The Congress has demanded that the release of the final voter list be stopped. The Congress party has asked that the applications received for new voter registration should be examined house number wise. Moreover, the leaders of the Congress party also demanded to examine where the unusual bids are coming from.
A team led by CEC Rajeev Kumar came to Hyderabad yesterday in connection with Telangana state assembly elections. The CEC team will review the assembly elections from yesterday. CEC Rajiv Kumar’s team met with the Collectors and SPs today. The CEC team is going to meet Telangana CS and DGP tomorrow. CEC Rajeev Kumar will speak to the media regarding the Telangana assembly elections.
There is also a rumor that the schedule for the Telangana Assembly elections is likely to be released after the 6th of this month. The political parties are also making arrangements for elections.
