ED has once again issued summons to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the excise policy case. This is the seventh time that ED has issued summons to Kejriwal in this case. Arvind Kejriwal ignored the last six summons sent by ED.

In those summons, ED ordered Kejriwal to appear before them on 26th of this month. Arvind Kejriwal has ignored six summons sent by ED so far . AAP claims that the summons are illegal and that is why Kejriwal is not attending the trial. AAP commented that the ED should also wait for the court’s decision without asking Kejriwal to appear repeatedly.

“We have answered all the summons from the ED. Finally, on February 17, CM Arvind Kejriwal was in court virtually. The court adjourned the next hearing to March 16. We are law abiding people. We will follow whatever the court says. ED has to wait for the verdict of the court in this case. “It is contempt of court to send summons before the court’s verdict,” said AAP spokesperson Priyanka Kakkar. AAP is alleging that the Enforcement Directorate is planning to arrest Kejriwal to prevent him from campaigning in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
