Final arguments in Supreme Court today on Chandrababu Naidu special leave petition

A hearing will be held in the Supreme Court on Tuesday (today) afternoon on the special leave petition filed by Chandrababu Naidu in the skill development case. AP government advocate Mukul Rohatgi, who argued the case last Friday, asked for some more time. With this, the bench of Justice Aniruddha Bose and Justice Bela M. Trivedi adjourned the hearing of the case to this day. After Mukul Rohatgi’s arguments are first heard at 2 pm, lawyer Harish Salve will hear counter arguments on behalf of Chandrababu. It is reported that arguments in this case are likely to be completed by this evening.

Chandrababu has filed a quash petition in the AP High Court that a case of skill development was registered against him without taking prior permission from the Governor.

However, as the High Court rejected this petition, Chandrababu filed a special leave petition in the Supreme Court. According to Section 17A of the Anti-Corruption Act, Chandrababu appealed to the Supreme Court to dismiss the case registered against him in violation of the rules, saying that the permission of the Governor is required first.
