Bollywood actress Gayathri who was seen in Ajay Devgn and Ileana D Cruz starrer Raid, has been roped for a meaty role in web series Baahubali :Before the Beginning.
The actress is tight lipped about her role in this web series. The regular shoot of Baahubali : Before the Beginning has been already started and she will join the sets from the next schedule.
The sources close to the film unit reveal that the makers of Baahubali :Before the Beginning are very happy with the works of Gayathri’s earlier film so they decided to brought her on the board. According to the makers, Gayatri will perfectly match the desired look so they did not waste the time and roped her.
Netflix has partnered with the ace team behind the Baahubali universe, including Arka Media Works and SS Rajamouli. Deva Katta and Praveen Sataru are together direct the series.
The season one of the prequel series Baahubali :Before the Beginning comprises of nine episodes and is based on Anand Neelakantan’s book, ‘The Rise of Sivagami’. The web series will capture Queen Sivagami’s journey from a rebellious and vengeful girl to a wise and unequaled queen. The series will be set 50 years before the events of the first film and 75 years before the second.
The 1st season consists of nine episodes and acts as a prequel to “Baahubali: The Beginning”, following the journey of Sivagami’s rise to power in the fictional Mahishmati kingdom.
Baahubali : Before the Beginning stars Rahul Bose, Mrunal Thakur, Shriya Saran and Atul Kulkarni in key roles. Mrunal Thakur is playing the role of Shivagami. It is the third Netflix Original produced in India after the crime thriller Sacred Games and horror mini-series Ghoul.
In the southern film industry, Gayathri has worked in Kannada movies. Originally from Kerala, she is also trained in taekwondo.
