In the name of ease of governance in AP, the government, which previously converted 13 districts into 26 districts, is now preparing to make many changes in the key zones in the recruitment and transfers of employees. For this purpose, the government is proposing six zones instead of the existing four zones in the state. In this regard, a meeting was also arranged to know the opinions of the trade unions. In this, the job unions have made several proposals.

General Administration Secretary P Bhaskar recently held a meeting with the leaders of recognized trade unions regarding the division of zones in AP. In this, the options proposed by the government were placed before them. In this, the trade unions have welcomed the six zone system proposed by the government.

In the system of six zones proposed by the government, Alluri Sitaramaraju district has been placed in Kakinada zone. The government is considering the issue of placing it in Visakha zone due to the objections of the trade unions. Also, while Tirupati district is placed in Nellore district, it is also considering the request of trade unions to keep it in YSR zone.

Srikakulam, Vizianagaram, Parvathipuram, Visakhapatnam and Anakapalli districts fall into the first zone. Also, Alluri Seetharamaraju, Kakinada, East Godavari and Dr. BR Ambedkar Konaseema districts fall into the second zone. West Godavari, NTR and Krishna districts fall into the third zone. The government said that Guntur, Palnadu, Bapatla, Prakasam, Nellore districts will fall into the fourth zone, Tirupati, Chittoor, Annamaiya, YSR districts will fall into the fifth zone and Nandyala, Anantapur, Kurnool and Sathyasai districts will fall into the sixth zone.
