Governor quota MLC Issue: Harish Rao, how BJP president became governor

Minister Harish Rao opined that Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan’ decision to reject the MLC candidature of Dasoju Shravan and Kurra Satyanarayan is outrageous. Dasoju Shravan and Kurra Satyanarayana who come from the most backward sections of the society have been in public service for decades.

He said that both of them have undertaken many service programs for the benefit of the people in their respective fields and if Telangana government gives them an opportunity as MLCs in the governor’s quota, it is outrageous that governor disqualifies them both because they are members of the BRS party.

Tamilisai, who is the president of Tamilnadu state BJP, questioned how he can be the governor of Telangana. Can a person who is the president of the party be given the governorship of the state? Harish Rao asked. Looking at the proposals of the Sarkaria Commission, Tamilisai should not be in the post of Governor and how is she?

He reminded that in BJP-ruled states only the leaders of that party are sent to the Rajya Sabha and the Council. He said that Ghulam Ali Khatana of the BJP party was not sent to the Rajya Sabha in the President’s quota. BJP leader Mahesh Jathmalani, Sonal Mansingh, Ramshakhal, Rakesh Sinha.. are not all of them working in BJP, he asked. How were they appointed as members of the Rajya Sabha in the President’s quota?

In Uttar Pradesh where BJP is in power, Jitin Prasad, Gopal Arjun Boorjee, Chaudhary Virendra Singh, Rajinikanth Maheshwari, Saket Mishra, Hansraj Vishwakarma, etc. have been appointed as MLCs in the governor’s quota. He said that one policy will be implemented in the states where the BJP is in power. He said that the central government has one policy. Will there be another policy for non-BJP states?
