Gummi Chakraborty has been appointed as Chief Security Officer of Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. State DGP Ravigupta has issued an order appointing Chakraborty, who is the SP of the State Anti-Narcotics Bureau, as the CM’s security officer temporarily. The order states that this decision will come into effect immediately.
CM Revanth has already appointed senior IPS officer Shivdhar Reddy as Telangana Intelligence Chief. Also, Seshadri was appointed as Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister. This is how Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is preparing his team.
If this is the case, it seems that there are chances of massive transfers in Police Department soon. The Congress has been alleging that the police officers who were in favor of the BRS leaders were given key responsibilities in the previous government. During the elections, Congress leaders also complained to the EC that the BRS government was using the police to trouble the opposition. Even Revanth Reddy himself has complained to the Election Commission to take action against some policemen.
