Over 400 films in his career, Muhammad Kutty Paniparambil Ismail, named his screen name as Mammootty, who had been a star from last four decades in whole South Indian Film Industry, is celebrating his 68th birthday today.
Mammootty started his career as an child artist in a movie named “Anubhavangal Paalichakkal” and started his career as an hero in the film named “KaalaChakram”. His works like “New Delhi” , “Oru CBI diary Kurippu” , “Avanika” had made him star during 1980’s.
His film “New Delhi” have shattered records in Malayalam and gave him huge break through as a commercial hero at that time. His movie with Maniratnam “Thalapathi” in which he acted alomg with Tamil Superstar Rajinikanth made him very famous all over the south film Industry.
He was awarded with Padma Shri in 1998 ny the government of India for his contribution in arts. He also produced many films which turned out to be super hits and His passion towards the films remained the same from past 40 years.
His latest film “Yatra” was a successful film in Tollywood and received huge applause from critics for his action as Late CM of Andhra Pradesh Shri Ys Rajasekhar reddy.
He also introduced his son Dulquer who is a star at present in South Indian Industry. Now, Mammooty is busy with lot many malayalam films and truly he is an inspiration to the younger generations.
