Heavy rain in Hyderabad last night disrupted life. Low-lying areas were flooded. Power supply stopped. Meanwhile, after midnight, it rained again. Kukatpally, KPHB, Miyapur, Kuthbullapur, Jedimetla, Madapur, Gachibowli, Borabanda, Filmnagar, Banjarahills and many other places received heavy rain. It continued to rain till dawn. Heavy rain fell especially in Moosapet, Sanatnagar and other areas.
Alerted by heavy rain, GHMC has issued warnings to people to be alert. Also, Mayor Vijayalakshmi ordered the Baldia administration to be vigilant. A tele conference was held with the Zonal Commissioners. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has said that there is a possibility of heavy rain in the city today as well and gusty winds of 40-50 km per hour.
GHMC welfare office at Shaikpet within Jubilee Hills circle recorded a 105.8 mm of rainfall, whereas Srinagar colony recorded 73 mm of rainfall till 1:00 am. Khajaguda area received a significant amount of rainfall, with 96 mm recorded, followed by the Kakatiya Hills at Madhapur, where 68.8 mm of rainfall was recorded.
On the otherside after the massive storm in Hyderabad which led to the washing away of many vehicles and GHMC Disaster Response Force (DRF) has retrieved 19 bikes from city nalas. The Disaster Response Force team attended to 59 complaints after the heavy rainfall.
