A devotee left on foot to deliver the padukas prepared as a gift to Lord Rama from Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh and started his journey to Ayodhya carrying the padukas on his head. Charla Srinivasa Shastri, director of Bhagyanagaram Sitarama Seva Trust Foundation, which is working as a center in Hyderabad, undertook this padayatra. Charla Srinivasa Shastri who made silver shoes worth 8 kg each for Ram, kept them on his head and started walking on 28th October last year.

Charla Srinivasa Shastri took a break in the middle of his journey with the intention of painting these silver feet with gold.  He explained that after gold plating, the weight of each pad will reach 12.5 kg ( 8 kg silver and 4.5 kg gold) and their value will be Rs 1.2 crore. Shastri said that he planned to personally deliver the ‘golden gift’ to the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and he would reach Ayodhya next week. 

He stated that he will meet Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and place the feet of Lord Ram in his hands. He said that CM Yogi has assured that these padukas will be kept in Ayodhya’s Ram Mandir for the darshan of devotees. Meanwhile, Srinivasa Shastri had also given gifts to Ayodhya Ram in the past. 5 silver bricks weighing 2.5 kg each were sent to Ayodhya for the construction of Ram Mandir.
