Opposition India alliance has taken a sensational decision. It has decided to boycott some TV anchors and shows. Opposition leaders will prepare a list of anchors and shows to be boycotted. The coordination committee said that the sub-group committee on media will work out the names of anchors and shows. This decision was taken in the first meeting of India Coordination Committee held at the residence of Nationalist Congress Party Chief Sharad Pawar.
Since the beginning, the Congress party has been alleging that some media organizations are working against them. More importantly Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra was ignored by some media houses. Not even minimum coverage is given. The Congress has taken serious notice of the deliberate omission of some media outlets despite the massive support for Rahul’s yatra from the public. Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot claimed that mainstream media has boycotted ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’. In May 2019 too, Congress boycotted TV shows for a month.
Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot said: It is my allegation that the editors have boycotted the yatra. Lakhs are joining campaign. Will you not show such the huge campaign?” .
