We have already reported that the Centre approved Bharat Biotech’s needle-free intranasal Covid vaccine for booster dose. National Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation chief Dr N K Arora said that the nasal vaccine, iNCOVACC, cannot be administered to those who have already taken a precaution or booster dose.

The COVID panel chief Dr N K Arora said that the nasal vaccine is recommended as 1st booster. For example, if a person has already received a precaution or booster dose, it is not recommended for that person. It is for those who have not yet taken a booster dose.

He  said the indigenously developed CoWIN platform will not accept bookings for the fourth dose. Dr N K Arora   interacted with media and revealed that if a person is repeatedly vaccinated with a particular type of antigen as the body either stops responding or responds poorly. He added that this is exactly why initially mRNA vaccines are given with a gap of 6 months, which was later reduced to 3months.

National Technical Advisory Group on Immunization chief Dr N K Arora claims India nasal Covid-19 vaccine is completely safe. Those people  inoculated will be kept under observation for 15-30 minutes to see if there are any adverse effects just like any other vaccine.
