There is a big uproar over the comments made by the Maldivian ministers against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Recently, the Ministry of External Affairs of India has issued a summons to the High Commissioner of Maldives in India, Ibrahim Shaheeb. With this, it is reported that he has gone to the South Block of the Ministry of External Affairs in Delhi. Prime Minister Modi recently visited Lakshadweep. He called to make Lakshadweep a tourist destination through social media. Ministers of Maldives responded sarcastically to this. Modi has been described as a puppet and a joker. He made derogatory comments about India. There was strong opposition in India on these comments. The Ministry of External Affairs of India has issued a summons to the High Commissioner of that country.
External Affairs Ministry has summoned Maldives High Commissioner Ibrahim Shaheeb amid a row over Maldivian ministers’ insulting remarks on Prime Minister Modi. Ibrahim Shaheeb spotted leaving the ministry’s south block in Delhi on Monday, 8th January.
On Sunday, country India raised the row with the Maldivian government.
