Another Indian woman has been appointed to a key position in America. Indian American Neera Tandon has been appointed as domestic policy adviser by President Joe Biden. She will help in the design and implementation of domestic policies in America. “I am pleased to announce that Neera Tandon will advance the formulation and implementation of policies on economic dynamism, national equality, health care, immigration, education and more,” said Joe Biden.
So far, Joe Biden‘s domestic policy advisor has been Susan Rice. Tandon replaced Susan Rice, a former American national security advisor. The Office of the President of the United States has three domestic advisers on White House policies. This is the first time that an Asian American has received such a position. Biden reminded that Neera Tandon, who is a senior adviser and staff secretary, is already overseeing the formulation of decisions along with the domestic, economic and national security teams.
Neera Tandon is currently working as a senior advisor and stop secretary to Joe Biden. She has experience working in the Obama and Clinton administrations as well as presidential campaigns and think tanks. Most recently, Neera Tandon was President and CEO of Center for American Progress and the Center for American Progress Action Fund.
