Inner Ring Road Case: Relief for Chandrababu Naidu in Supreme Court

TDP leader Chandrababu got relief in the Supreme Court in the Inner Ring Road case. The AP High Court dismissed the petition filed by the state government seeking to remove the orders granted on November 24.

On 29th January Supreme Court dismissed a plea of the Andhra Pradesh Government challenging the anticipatory bail granted to Chandrababu Naidu in the Amaravati Inner Ring Road scam case. A bench of Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta dismissed plea of the State Government in which it challenged the high court order of January 10 giving relief to Chandrababu.

In September last year, TDP president Chandrababu Naidu was arrested by AP CID in a skill development case. Then on September 12, he was included as an accused in the Inner Ring Road case. AP High Court has granted anticipatory bail in several cases filed against Chandrababu.

On November 24, TDP leader Chandrababu got relief in the High Court in the Inner Ring Road and free sand cases during TDP’s rule. The High Court ordered that no action should be taken against Chandrababu till further orders. The state government has challenged in the Supreme Court the grant of anticipatory bail in the High Court in Inner Ring Road cases registered by AP CID. The Supreme Court, which heard the government’s petitions, opined that anticipatory bail does not affect the investigation. The High Court refused to interfere with the order granted.
