The AP government is organizing Sri Lakshmi Maha Yaga with Sudarshana of Chandi Rudra Rajashyamala in Vijayawada on 12th of this month. This yag will be held under the auspices of Devadaya department. In this context, Narne Venkata Subbaiah, the state president of the Rational Society, criticized Chief Minister Jagan. Is Jagan performing these sacrifices to regain the seat of CM? He asked.
He said that if the chief minister wants to perform yagas, he should conduct them with his own money. It is not appropriate to conduct them officially and in government places. He demanded immediate withdrawal of this Yag which is being conducted with 10 crores of public money. He made these comments while speaking at the Vijayawada Press Club.
Mothukuri Arun Kumar, a member of the rational society, said that the Chief Minister, who has taken an oath to act according to the constitution, is defying the constitution to carry out such a religious practice. The participation of public representatives, IAS and IPS in this yagam was criticized as against the constitution.
The government is paying special attention to the arrangements for this Yag. This is the first time that such a large-scale program is organized. The priests of Tirumala Tirupati Devasdana will conduct this program. The entire expenses are being borne by Revenue Department.
