Ram Pothineni is coming up with action and romantic entertainer iSmart Shankar, which is helmed by Puri Jagannadh. According to the latest buzz in the film industry, iSmart Shanker is straight freemake of British science fiction movie iBoy.
Recently the makers released the trailer of the movie, which grabbed several eyeballs. It seems the Ram Pothineni starrer iSmart Shankar revolves around a hero who has a mobile SIM card inserted into his head.
iBoy is a British science-fiction teen thriller film on Netflix, starring Bill Milner and Maisie Williams, based on the 2010 novel of the same name by Kevin Brooks. In this film Bill Milner played the role of iBoy who suffers severe head injuries and develops cybernatural powers. The movie was all about the story of protagonist who is implanted with a mobile chip in his brain.
However, it is not yet clear whether the Telugu moviemaker- Puri Jagannadh have bought the rights of the iBoy for iSmart Shankar or if they have just done a ‘free-make’ of the film.
iSmart Shankar is jointly bankrolled by Puri Jagannadh and Charmme Kaur under Puri Jagannadh Touring Talkies and Puri Connects banners. The film has two actresses- Nabha Natesh and Nidhhi Agerwal in female lead role. The movie is slated to hit the theaters on 18th July.
