TDP chief Chandrababu, who is on a tour of the joint Krishna district, participated in the Ambedkar Jayanti program at Gudivada yesterday. Tributes were paid to Dr BR Ambedkar, the maker of the Constitution. On this occasion Chandrababu Naidu said, “ Born in an ordinary family, Ambedkar was hailed as an extraordinary force. The services rendered by Baba Saheb for the future of the country cannot be forgotten and TDP will carry forward his ambitions.” He reminded that when NTR was the chairman of the National Front, the then central government announced the Bharat Ratna to Ambedkar. He said that NTR is the true successor of Ambedkar.
It was the TDP that nominated KR Narayanan, who belongs to the Dalit community, as the President. Chandrababu revealed that Balayogi, who belongs to the same community, was made the Speaker of the Lok Sabha. He explained that the honor of making Kaki Madhavrao CS also belongs to TDP. He said that Justice Punnaiah’s commission for the abolition of untouchability was also set up by TDP and the recommendations were also accepted.
Chandrababu accused that it was decided to set up a huge Ambedkar statue and memorial in Amaravati, but the YCP government neglected it.
