Plus Points:

  • Story
  • Performance
  • Suriya
  • Screenplay
  • Narration
  • The courtroom scenes

Minus Points:

  • Run time

Performance:  Suriya, who plays advocate Chandru, is often seen with a sculpture of Karl Marx in the background, along with Ambedkar and Periyar, has given his fantastic performance. Lijomal Jose  in the role of a tribal lady is astonishing. The way she essays the role of a helpless pregnant lady fighting for her husband is appreciable.  Manikandan in the role of Rajanna is also intense.  The way he showcases the pain in all the investigation scenes looks realistic. The rest of the cast  have given a very realistic performance.

Technical:  Jai Bhim is a movie that is raw, real and brutal, with gritty filmmaking enhancing the solid writing. The editing is ok. Production values are top notch. Production design and production values have given a rich look. Art direction is another notable aspect of the film. Cinematographer has captured the scenes beautifully.  Coming to the work of Gynanavel, he has done an amazing job with the film Jai Bhim.  The director picks the real-life story of lawyer Chandru and showcases one of his best cases on the screen.  The screenplay with gripping narration is the highlight.

Analysis: The film  Jai Bhim shows how the lower castes are suppressed.  The movie is based on a real-life incident involving Justice K Chandru, from his days as a lawyer.
