Polling for assembly elections is going on in Karnataka. Polling will end at 6 pm. Bharat Rashtra Samithi – BRS MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha tweeted on this occasion addressing the voters of Karnataka. Kavitha asked to drive away hatred in this election. Dear people of Karnataka.. Reject those who increase hatred among the people and vote for development.. MLC Kavita appealed to the voters. 

Polling in the state is currently going on peacefully. When the polling started at seven in the morning, lines lined up in front of the polling booths. A total of 2,615 candidates are contesting in 224 constituencies. 5.31 crore voters across the state will exercise their right to vote in this election.

The voting is being held for 224 assembly constituencies in Karnataka with 2,615 candidates in the fray. The fate of the candidates will be known on 13th May, the day of counting of votes. Polling is scheduled across 58,545 polling stations including auxiliary polling stations.

 Total 42,48,028 new voters have been registered to vote for the assembly elections.

Some of the key constituencies which will make major mark in polls are Hubli-Darwad, Channapatna, Shikaripura, Chittapur, Varuna, Kanakapura, Shiggaon,  Ramanagara, and Chikmagalur.

PM Narendra Modi has called for high voter turnout in Karnataka, on the otherside Congress party urged voters to ‘vote wisely’.
