The Police took into custody 2 Telugu Desam party- TDP leaders, holding them responsible for stampede at Kandukur in Nellore district. It may be recalled that 8 people had died in the stampede during Telugu Desam Party chief N Chandrababu Naidu’s roadshow on 28th December.  The police detained TDP’s Kandukur in-charge Inturi Nageswara Rao and district vice-president Inturi Rajesh in Hyderabad.

They were arrested in Hyderabad on Thursday and shifted to Kandukur. When Inturi Nageswara Rao & Rajesh were produced before the judge, they were granted bail on Friday morning. The Inturi brothers were brought from the  Hyderabad to the Kandukur police station at 1.45 am after midnight. After knowing this matter, Telugu Desam party – TDP leaders came there in large numbers. While the Inturi brothers were being taken inside, lawyers and TDP leaders also tried to enter but they were stopped by the police and an argument took place between them..

 TDP leaders sent the High Court lawyers to Kandukur for bail at 2.30 pm.  After 3.25 hours they were taken to local magistrate Poornima Devi. Arguments continued till 5 o’clock.  Judge Poornima Devi.  in Kandukur granted bail to both of them at 5.20 am.  However, dramatic developments took place between the arrest and the bail.
