Thalaivi , the biopic of late actress and chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, J Jayalalithaa, is one of the much awaited movie of  film industry. Yesterday the makers of Thalaivi announced that  they are postponing the release of the film starring National award winning actress  Kangana Ranaut, owing to the rising Coronavirus cases across India.

The team  of Thalaivi took to social media  and said, “Since the film has been made in multiple languages, we would like to release it in all languages on the same day. But with an alarming rise in Coronavirus cases, the precautions and lockdowns, even though our movie is ready for release on 23rd April, we want to extend all the support towards government rules and have decided to postpone release of  this upcoming movie Thalaivi.”

The statement has been signed by producers Shaailesh R Singh , Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Zee Studios.

 Kangana Ranaut starrer Thalaivi is helmed by A L Vijay,  and the screenplay is penned by K V Vijayendra Prasad, Rajat Arora and Madhan Karky. The movie also has Arvind Swami, Prakash Raj and Bhagyashree in key roles. Arvind Swami  is essaying the role of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M G Ramachandran in this multilingual drama.
