Rishab Shetty’ magnum opus Katara emerged as one of the biggest blockbusters in 2022. Apart from helming, Rishab Shetty also played the lead role in this film which turned out to be a sensation in Telugu and Hindi as well. Now, the makers announced a fresh and interesting update on the film. Popular production house Hombale Films surprised the fans by announcing that Kantara is qualified in 2 categories – Best Picture and Best Actor. The film makers also revealed that the final nominations will be out on January 24, 2023.

The movie Kantara has made it to the Academy Awards qualification list in the Best Picture and Best Actor categories which means Rishab Shetty’ film is eligible for Oscar members to cast a vote to push it through to the main nominations. Last few weeks, Rajamouli’ magnum opus RRR made all the sound for being qualified in the Best Original Song category for the song ‘Naattu Naattu’.
