In Hyderabad, everything is ready for the unveiling of a 125 feet huge statue of Indian Constitution maker Dr BR Ambedkar. The Telangana government has made all arrangements to organize the idol unveiling program tomorrow. Dr BR Ambedkar idol will be unveiled by Chief Minister KCR.
The statue has been installed at the site adjacent to NTR Garden on Hussain Sagar shore in Hyderabad. It is noteworthy that this is the tallest statue of Ambedkar in the country so far. A 50 feet pedestal was constructed in the shape of Parliament and a metal statue of Ambedkar was installed on top of it. Ambedkar’s grandson Prakash Ambedkar, BRS MPs, state ministers and other public representatives will attend the unveiling ceremony. The transport department has made arrangements for people from all regions to attend this event. About 750 buses are being sent to different areas. Arrangements have been made in the statue premises so that 50 thousand people can sit.
The cost of making this idol is Rs 146.50 crores has been allocated by the government. A total area of 11.80 acres has been allocated for this purpose. The pedestal under the statue has an area of 27,556 square feet. A library is also going to be set up. For the idol unveiling program Rs 10 crore has been released by the state government. 20 Buddhist Gurus conduct prayers during the unveiling of the statue. Later flowers will be showered by helicopter.
