Kodi kathi case: AP High Court grants bail to Srinivasa Rao

AP High Court has granted bail to Srinivasa Rao,  the prime accused in the attack on YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, who has been in remand for five years in the Kodi kathi case. The court has imposed restrictions not to talk outside about this case.

 The accused has been in remand for almost five years. For a few days, agitations have been going on under the auspices of all parties to grant bail to the accused.

The investigation of the attack on AP CM Jagan Mohan Reddy, was transferred from Vijayawada NIA court to Visakhapatnam in August last year. Before the 2019 elections, Jagan, who was the leader of the opposition, was attacked at Visakhapatnam airport. Kodi katthi case, which is being tried in the NIA court in Vijayawada till 2023, has been transferred to the newly formed NIA court in Visakhapatnam. CM Jagan Mohan Reddy has been issued notices to give evidence in this case but he has not appeared due to various reasons.

On the other hand , the NIA clarified in the court hearing last year that there was no conspiracy in the Kodi katti incident against YCP chief Jagan . At that time, the owner of the restaurant, Harshavardhan, also made it clear that he had nothing to do with the incident.
