Former minister and BRS working president KTR said, “Congress government has failed to protect the interests of farmers in Telangana state. The ruling party is acting irresponsibly in the case of farmers. BRS is visiting Medigadda and Annaram barrages to explain the importance of Kaleshwaram project to the public.”
KTR spoke to the media before leaving for Medigadda along with BRS MLAs and leaders. He said, “I am doing this trip to inform the government about the problems faced by the farmers in the current season. The Congress government should explain the reasons for not taking corrective measures at Medigadda.”
Later, former Agriculture Minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy said that the government should immediately take up the repair work at Medigadda and prove its sincerity towards the farmers. He said that it was inappropriate for the government to politicize the Madigadda issue at the risk of farmers’ interests.
