After the renunciation of the current Director General of Police of Andhra Pradesh, Gautham Sawang, another senior IPS officer Kasireddy Venkata Rajendra Nath Reddy, shortly called as KVRN Reddy, will occupy the respective position, according to the sources. KVRN Reddy is going to be appointed as the new Director General of Police of AP.
Though Reddy has a least circle around him, he is a senior IPS officer for 1992 batch, and he is the Director General of Police (Intelligence) since may 2020 to till now. But, why Sawang will be departured from his duty is an abrupt situation and unknown. Sawang was the IPS officer of AP during the year 1986. He had been serving as the DGP since YSR Congress Party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy came to power as the CM of AP in May 2019.
As per the insider news, Sawang is the main target of TDP right from the day one of Jagan’s rule, as he is the dearest one to Jagan. So, the TDP cadre fought for the dismissal of Sawang. But there is no news yet officially.
To say about the new DGP KVRN Reddy, he had worked in several positions as DCP East Zone in Hyderabad, Vijayawada Railway SP and also as a City Police Commissioner of Vijayawada. He also performed his duties as the Director General, Vigilance and Enforcement and Ex-Officio Principal Secretary to Government, before holding his responsibilities as the intelligence chief.
