At the trailer launch of Akshay Kumar starrer upcoming Hindi film, Bell Bottom, yesterday, the media persons who were invited to cover the event were at a loss trying to figure out the character played by Lara Dutta in the 1980s set spy thriller. The trailer starts with a disclaimer, begins with an Indian airplane being hijacked with all of its passengers being taken hostage in 1984. In the next scene, Prime Minister Indira Gandhi is seen consulting with her advisors for a possible way to tackle the crisis.
Actress Lara Dutta is playing the role of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, in upcoming film Bell Bottom, which is a spy thriller set in 1984. Bell Bottom trailer revealed Lara Dutta’ onscreen transformation as the former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi for the first time and Twitter is in awe. The former Miss Universe Lara Dutta is unrecognizable as herself in the trailer of Bell Bottom.
At the trailer launch event, Lara Dutta said that it was a great responsibility to portray someone who’s an iconic figure like Mrs Indira Gandhi. It was very important to get her body language right on the screen.
Directed by Ranjit M Tewari, the film Bell Bottom also has Vaani Kapoor and Huma Qureshi in the female lead roles and it will be released on 19th August.
