Mahanati Collections : Mahanati – the biopic of Savitri, which was released on 9th May 2018, is running successfully at the box office and receiving lot of applause. It is helmed by Nag Ashwin and jointly produced by C. Ashwini Dutt, Swapna Dutt and Priyanka Dutt under the banners of Vyjayanthi Movies and Swapna Cinema whereas it has the music by Mickey J Meyer. According to the traders report, Mahanati has collected Rs 26.61 Cr shares at the box office of both Telugu States – Andhra Pradesh and Telangana after the successful run of 31 days.

Keerthy Suresh essays the role of Savitri in Mahanati whereas Dulquer Salmaan playes Gemini Ganesan. Samantha Akkineni and Vijay Devarakonda, played Journalists in Mahanati.
Mahanati threw light on Savitri’s life as an actress and her relationship with her husband Gemini Ganesan. Apart from the lead pair, Mahanati has other stars like Shalini Pandey, Bhanupriya, Rajendra Kumar, Krish, Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Akkineni Naga Chaitanya in supporting roles.
Mahanati is a first Telugu language biopic. The film’s cast and director Nag Ashwin have already maintained that it is a non-fictional account of Legendary actress Savitri’s life, her successes and failures and her highs and lows and, this aspect makes Mahanati all the more anticipated.
Mahanati has traced the life of Savitri from 1940s to 1980s and the life of Savitri is brought alive on big screen through Samantha Akkineni’s eyes. Meanwhile Keerthy Suresh who is enjoying the success of Mahanati, is currently busy n her upcoming Tamil movies- Saamy 2, Sandakozhi 2 and Thalapathy 62, which are in different production stages.
