AP Irrigation Minister Ambati Rambabu once again made key allegations against the previous TDP government regarding the Polavaram project. He said that the diaphragm wall of the project has suffered heavy damage. He said that the diaphragm wall was damaged for about 485 meters and big potholes were also formed. He said that it will cost about 2 thousand crores to fix it. It is alleged that this situation has arisen due to construction of diaphragm wall without completion of coffer dam works.
Ambati Rambabu said that a survey was conducted by the National Hydro Power Corporation and the report was received three days later. Ambati said that a decision will be taken soon on whom action will be taken for this huge mistake. Minister Ambati Rambabu inspected the Polavaram project works on Sunday (March 5). After that, a media conference was arranged. He said that the project work will be accelerated this season. He said that the work was delayed due to damage to the diaphragm wall.
Speaking to media, Ambati Rambabu said that is a project to provide the water facilities to the people for thousands of years and opined that there is no compromise in the terms of quality. He said that the project works will be expedited this season. The next four to five months will be crucial to complete the work. He said that this is a project dreamed by YS Rajasekhar Reddy and the Polavaram project will be completed by the hands of CM Jagan Mohan Reddy.
