MP Komatireddy’ opinion has become crucial in the finalization of MLA tickets on behalf of the Congress party in the joint Nalgonda district. It seems that his permission is mandatory in joining the party. As a result the politics of the district is revolving around him.

The entire Nalgonda politics is now revolving around Bhuvanagiri MP Komatireddy Venkatareddy. Komati Reddy’s opinion has become crucial in the allotment of MLA tickets in some constituencies, whether any leader from other parties should join the Congress. Out of the 12 assembly constituencies of the joint Nalgonda district, he is putting his finger on eight other places except Suryapet, Kodada, Huzur Nagar, Nagarjuna Sagar constituencies. He is trying to get tickets for his followers or those he trusts well. Finally, he prepared candidates on his own in Miryalagudem and Devarakonda constituencies where politics is run under the influence of senior leader Kunduru Janareddy. With this, now the Nalgonda Congress politics is revolving around MP Komati Reddy Venkata Reddy.

In the 2018 assembly elections, he contested for the fifth time on behalf of the Congress from the Nalgonda Legislative Assembly constituency and was defeated. In the next year’s parliamentary elections, Komatireddy contested from Bhuvanagiri Lok Sabha constituency and won. In fact, his younger brother Komati Reddy Rajagopal Reddy, who contested as Bhuvanagiri MP in 2009 and won from that position, defeated in the 2014 election and won as MLC in the joint Nalgonda district local body quota.

While holding office as an MLC, he won as an MLA from the previous assembly constituency in the 2018 elections. As a result, when there were no candidates to contest from Bhuvanagiri in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, he had already lost the Nalgonda assembly seat and won as an MP. Since then, political moves have been made to gain control over Bhuvanagiri.
