India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will be making an official visit to America, will set a new record. He will create a record as the first Indian Prime Minister to address the American legislature twice.
White House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell and others have invited Narendra Modi to address both houses of the US, and the Indian Prime Minister responded on Twitter. He said that he was eager to address both the Houses and it was a matter of pride for him. The Prime Minister tweeted on Tuesday that the global strategic partnership with America is a matter of pride for India. He said that the India-US relationship was formed on the basis of democratic values. He said that both countries are committed to world peace.
Meanwhile, on 22nd June, the Prime Minister of India will address the joint meeting of the US Houses of Representatives. Future activities of India and the challenges faced by both countries will be discussed. US President Biden also organized an official dinner during Modi’s US visit.
Meanwhile, this is Modi’s second official visit to America. In June 2016, he visited Agrarajya for the first time. So far, only Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has addressed the US legislature twice, Indian officials have revealed.
