The spread of Nipah virus is increasing in Kerala. Recently, a 39-year-old man was infected with this virus. As a result, the number of Nipah virus cases in Kerala has reached six. This deadly disease has already claimed two lives.

Kerala government has issued an alert in Kozhikode district after two deaths took place at a private hospital in Kozhikode due to the  Nipah virus. 2  more people, including a nine-year-old boy, have been infected with  this Nipah virus, says Kerala Health Minister.

This is the fourth time since 2018 that Nipah virus has spread in Kerala. Generally, this virus, spreads from animals to humans. Officials say that the Nipah strain found in the state is similar to the Bangladeshi variant.

The spread of Nipah virus is high in Kozhikode district. A person who tested positive for the virus recently was admitted to a private hospital due to illness. While undergoing treatment, he was tested for Nipah virus. In the end, he was found to be positive. 

A 24-year-old man working in a private hospital in Kozhikode district contracted the virus on Thursday.

Currently 13 people are under observation in various hospitals in Kozhikode. Their reports have not yet arrived. 

Kerala was devastated by Nipah virus in 2018.  21 people lost their lives. Nipah scared people in 2019 and 2021 as well.  And now worrying again.
