When the TDP government chose Amaravati as the capital of AP, the BJP, which declared its full support, then offered to give many projects. But with the developments taking place after that, the center has been gradually reducing the allocation of funds.

A total of 19 projects have been undertaken at a cost of Rs 930 crores for the previously proposed smart city project in Amaravati. In this, 12 projects worth Rs. 627 crore have been completed, while seven more projects are pending. Union Minister Kaushal Kishore revealed in the Parliament that the share funds to be given on behalf of the Center have been given to them. He also said that seven projects worth Rs 302.86 crore are currently running.

The center is stubborn in allocating more funds to Amaravati Smart City. The Center has decided in the Parliament that the required funds have already been given to this project and there is no proposal to give more funds. With this, it has become clear that the BJP, which claims to support Amaravati, will not provide more funds through the government led by them.

Already after YCP govt’ proposal of three capitals, work in Amaravati has almost stopped. There is no release of state-wise funds for projects funded by the Centre. As a result, new projects are not coming here. Until the Amaravati matter is resolved in the Supreme Court, there is no possibility of exchanging funds for these projects. Farmers are waiting for the verdict of the Supreme Court. If any new announcement is made in the wake of elections, the orders of the Supreme Court will surely become an obstacle for the governments.
