Minister of State for Water Power Bishweshwar Tudu announced in the Parliament that the Finance Department has not objected to Rs10,911.15 crore flood damage and Rs 2 thousand crore funds for the first phase of the Polavaram project.
Center has announced that there is no objection to the release of funds as per the progress of the Polavaram project. Based on the answers given by the Center in the Parliament, it is clear that the central state governments have come to a decision to limit the construction of the Polavaram project to 41.5 meters in the first phase. The Center has repeatedly quoted the height of Polavaram as 41.5 meters.
Minister of State for Water Power Bisweshwar Tudu said that after the center approves the proposals sent by the state government for the construction of Polavaram, the funds will be released based on the progress of the work. The Union Minister gave a written reply to a question asked by Machilipatnam MP Vallabhaneni Balashauri in the Lok Sabha on Thursday.
It has been announced that Rs 10,911 cr will be released to complete the work required to store water up to 41.15 feet in Polavaram. The Union Minister stated that the Union Finance Department had no objection to give another Rs 2 thousand cr to repair the flood-damaged Dia From Wall.
