A non-bailable arrest warrant has been issued against RK Selvamani, husband of Andhra Pradesh Minister Roja, a popular director. A film financier named Mukund Chand Bothra filed a case against him. In a channel interview, in 2016 Selvamani made serious allegations against film financier Mukund Chand Bothra alleging that he had to face a lot of difficulties because of the financier.
Taking his comments seriously, Mukund Chand Bothra filed a defamation suit against Selvamani. After Mukundchand’s death, his son Gaganbothra continues the case. As RK Selvamani did not attend the court’s hearing, the Chennai George Town court has issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Selvamani on Monday and adjourned the further hearing to September 22. Minister Roja has not responded to these developments.
Metropolitan Magistrate Court in George Town expressed dissatisfaction with RK Selvamani’s repeated non-compliance and lack of legal representation.
Selvamani, who has directed several Telugu and Tamil films, is currently the president of the Film Directors Association, FEFCI.
