Every year, 7th August is observed as the National Handloom Day in India to highlight the contribution of the handloom industry in the socio-economic development and create awareness about the sector. An interesting development took place in the Telugu states on the occasion of National Handloom Day. Telangana Minister Srinivas Goud has taken the #MyhandloomMyPride Challenge and nominated Minister KTR among two others. KTR, the son of Telangana Chief Minister KTR, who has been working for the development of handloom in Telangana, accepted the challenge and nominated Jana Sena Chief and actor Power Star Pawan Kalyan, industrialist Anand Mahindra, cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar. Gabbar Singh star also accepted KTR’ challenges and challenged none other than Chandrababu Naidu.
Pawan Kalyan took to his twitter, share few pics and wrote: @KTRTRS Ram Bhai’s challenge accepted ‘cause of my love & admiration for our weaver communities. Now I nominate Sri @ncbnSri @balineni_vasuSri @drlaxmanbjp to post their pictures with Handlooms & show their love on #NationalHandloomDay
