After battling for life for around 85 hours, Dr Preethi Dharavath, post-graduate medical student from Kakatiya Medical College in Warangal, was declared dead at 9.10 pm on Sunday at NIMS.

NIMS Hospital medical superintendent issued a bulletin, “In continuation of the health update of Dr Preethi Dharavath, despite continuous efforts by a multidisciplinary team of specialist doctors, she could not be saved and was declared dead.”  The actor and Politician Power Star Pawan Kalyan responded on the death of Dr Preethi and said that the death of Dr Preethi is very sad. He expressed grief over Preethi’ death and said, “If the college management had responded properly and taken action against the perpetrators of harassment, Preeti’ parents would not have faced this situation.”

Pawan Kalyan added, “I am praying to the God to rest the soul of Dr Preethi who lost her battle with death for the five days in the hospital. Deepest sympathy to Preethi’s family. Preethi would not have died if the college management had responded in a proper manner immediately after receiving the complaint about Saif’s harassment.”  Pawan Kalyan stated that the person responsible for her death should be punished severely.

Dr Preethi’ brother Vamshi Prudhvi said that she  was not a person who would take such a step and alleged that it was a clear case of murder.
