PM Modi initiates provisional projects worth Rs 56000 cr

Related to power, rail and road sectors, prime minister Narendra Modi launched multiple provisional projects that value more than Rs 56,000 crore in Telangana. The launching ceremony was graced by the state Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan and the chief minister A Revanth Reddy.

At the launch event, the prime minister dedicated NTPC’s 800 MW (Unit-2) of Telangana Super Thermal Power Project in Peddapalli, among other projects. The project has a capacity to supply 85% power to the state, as per ultra-supercritical technology. It is also having the highest power generation capacity of nearly 42% among all power stations of NTPC in India. In addition, Narendra Modi also dedicated the 660 MW (Unit-2) of North Karanpura Super Thermal Power Project conceived with an Air Cooled Condenser of such large magnitude that decreases water consumption to 1/3rd than conventional water-cooled condensers.

During the project launch ceremony, Modi spoke, “Today India is the only country in the world which has emerged as a large economy by clocking 8.4% growth in the earlier quarter. The growth rate of India was the center point for the previous three-four days across the world. India will be termed as the third largest economy of the world with this pace.”

The event had also taken the attendance of the Union minister G Kishan Reddy. The chief minister A Revanth Reddy expressed his words about Modi, saying, “Prime Minister means like a big brother and that the state needs his support for it to prosper like Gujarat, which is Modi’s home-state. Telangana did not want hostilities with the Central government and desired cordial relations.”
