India’ Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a sortie on Tejas aircraft in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
Tejas is a single seater fighter aircraft but PM took a sortie in twin seat trainer variant operated by Air Force and Navy.
Prime Minister Modi took a ride in an indigenously made Tejas fighter jet. The PM visited Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) in Bangalore today. The ongoing operations and manufacturing unit were inspected there. On this occasion, Modi traveled in a twin-seater Tejas. He shared the photographs related to this on the X platform and captioned it: Successfully completed a sortie on the Tejas. The experience was incredibly enriching, significantly bolstering my confidence in our country’s indigenous capabilities, and leaving me with a renewed sense of pride and optimism about our national potential.
Modi said that he has completed the journey of Tejas successfully. This is a great experience. He said that his faith in our indigenous ability has increased. PM Modi said that we are proud of our energy capabilities and we can proudly say that we are not inferior to anyone in the world.
It is known that in the month of February 2021, the defence ministry sealed Rs 48,000 Cr deal with state run aerospace major Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd for procurement of 83 Tejas MK-1A jets for the IAF.
