A police officer who stopped MIM party leader Akbaruddin Owaisi from addressing a public meeting after the time allowed by the Election Commission became a topic of discussion. A case was registered against Owaisi due to strong protests from the opposition.
The police registered a case against Akbaruddin Owaisi on the allegations that Akbaruddin threatened a police officer during the election campaign in Hyderabad. BJP leader Syed Zafar Islam accused Chief Minister KCR of not being able to maintain law and order in Telangana.
It was alleged that he started challenging the policemen while they were doing their work. He said that in Telangana under KCR administration, law and order cannot be controlled and law and order will be strong only if BJP government comes in the coming period.
On the other hand, South East Zone DCP Rohit Raju said that a case has been registered against Akbaruddin Owaisi based on the complaint of Santosh Nagar SHO. A case has been registered under IPC Section 353 (obstructing official duties) and other sections for obstructing a police officer on election duty, he said.
Akbaruddin Owaisi on Tuesday threatened a police inspector who asked him to follow the model code of conduct during election campaign. On being asked to stop the speech, Akbaruddin abused the police. These videos have gone viral.
