Police conducted searches at the residence of former minister and Congress leader Tummala Nageswara Rao on Wednesday. Police are conducting searches in two residences belonging to Thummala Nageswara Rao in Khammam. It is reported that EC officials are also present along with the police.
Former Minister Tummala Nageswara Rao has filed a complaint with the Central Election Commission against Minister Puvwada Ajay Kumar for casting 35,000 bogus votes in five assembly constituencies of Khammam district. He stated in that complaint that the collector and the commissioners of the respective municipalities added the Bogas votes as per the instructions of Minister Ajay. Tummala Nageswara Rao mentioned in that complaint that despite complaining to the election officials and the district collector, there was no result. Within two days of this complaint, the police conducted searches at the residence of former minister Tummala Nageswara Rao in Sricity.
Former MP Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy from the joint Khammam district also made key comments. He commented that there is a possibility of IT attacks on his and his family members’ houses.
Tummala Nageswara Rao and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy were previously in BRS. Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy joined the Congress party in July this year. On the other hand, Tummala Nageswara Rao joined the Congress party in September this year.
Tummala Nageswara Rao is expected to contest as a BRS candidate from Paleru Assembly seat. However, the BRS ticket was allocated to the sitting MLA. Congress party invited Tummala Nageswara Rao who was dissatisfied with this. Thummala Nageswara Rao joined the Congress party on the invitation of that party.
